Casteist Indian media looses reliability, backward and scheduled classes journalists blooms

• Though the present scenario has not been good for the down trodden castes of India but it has certainly proved to be fruitful in terms of BAHUJAN JOURNALISM i.e, journalism for the cause of backward and scheduled castes/tribes. Just like all other fields Indian journalism has been a upper castes paradise. Any upper caste person whether he poses quality or not can be a journalist through his links. This is the main reason behind the low standard and psycophancy in Indian Journalism in comparison to the west.

Around 70-75% of Indian journalists are brahmans. when we add other upper caste journalist in this list then the share goes as high as 93-95%. Contrast is that UPPER Caste people do not account for more than 12-14% of Indian Population.
Share of downtrodden people(Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes) is miniscule. The journalists who with their talent secured a position in journalism have been facing biases. They have been given lower salary than incompetent upper caste journalists. Chances of promotion for them is too little no matter how many excellent reports they have written. Because of all these number of editors belonging to downtrodden community are negligible and news anchors in main stream Indian media is zero.
Since there is little representation, Indian media do not care about the problems of these communities, on the other hand they mislead them by propagating fake news about their leaders who fought for their rights.
But now the situation is changing. Indian mainstream media is now the most unreliable then they were in past. This has given rise to social media journalism. Many journalists who belong to downtrodden communities are running their news channel on youtube and talk about the issues of their communities. Most of them had faced bias in mainstream media. These youtubers has millions of subscribers. They openly criticise the brahmanical model and awakening the masses. Dalit Dastak, National Dastak, National Janmat, Activist ved are some of the youtube channels which belongs to journalist of downtrodden community and are spreading awareness against the establishment.
